Built in 1859 by John Stoddard for his thriving cotton trade, our building has been home to commerce of various natures for over 160 years. We've done our best to preserve and capture the history of our building and the amazing people who have played a role in Savannah's long history as 'The Hostess City'.
208 Wine Bar is available to accommodate private events and parties for up to 40 adults (all attendees must be 21+). We work with several local caterers and can coordinate an amazing and unique experience for you and your guests.

Each of the four courses will be served with a sampling of wines from the Prisoner Wine Company, including Blindfold, Saldo, & Unshackled. Test Your tastebuds with a “Blindfold Challenge”. NEW GUIDED EXPERIENCE AT 208! What Your Nose Knows: An Aroma Experience Be among the first to try our NEW Sniff & Sip class! During this approximately 90-minute experience, we will blind-sniff *real* aromas (not synthetic fragrances!) that are commonly found in wines we often enjoy, and then try to identify them in four mystery wines that we examine.. and then drink, of course! And perhaps a surprise to test your developing skills? Welcome bubbles and light charcuterie are included; please make any allergies and dietary restrictions known upon booking. What a find! At the end of a long day of shopping what a treat this wine bar was. The atmosphere was perfect from decor to the service! We had the pleasure of conversing with the owner and learned so much about the area. An absolute must stop in Savannah!!
Fantastic spot for a wine lover to have a moment of pause. Excellent, diverse wine selection served in a charmingly decorated space, with a super nice staff! This shop would be a treasure anywhere, but especially in Savannah. Can't forget to mention the excellent views of the river! We enjoyed our afternoon sit immensely. A new favorite, to be sure!
I wish I could give more stars, because they deserve it. This wine bar is one of new favorite spots to go to in Savannah. Once you walk in, you feel welcomed and get great vibes. The staff is extremely knowledgeable on wine and can help you select the wine of your tasting instantly. Lastly, the wine selection is top notch and you can find unique great tasting wines.
LOVE LOVE LOVE. This WILL be a stop every time we're in Savannah! The hostess and the owner are phenomenal. It IS DOG FRIENDLY! You can't beat a good dog friendly place! With the menu and the service, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Definitely a great place to stop if you want a glass of good wine and a light snack. We stopped by twice during our stay in Savannah and had great service by the staff both times. They even helped us find some new wines we would not have tried otherwise that were quite resasonable. Would definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a glass of wine or to try something new!
